The GIZ project Psychosocial Support and Trauma Work in Jordan (PSS) is seeking a “Junior Health advisor - Mental Health and Psychosocial Support” for full-time base employment for the duration of six months (covering maternity leave).
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
- BA/MA/MSc in psychology, social work, public health, sociology, nursing or any other related field of work
- 3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position concerning mental health and psychosocial supportexperience in working with Government authorities and public health centres or ministries and government in general
- experience in developing training material and in organising trainings on mental health and psychosocial support
- experience in digitalisation of online services and of trainings concerning mental health and psychosocial support
- experience in staff-care and self-care measures and in their implementation
- experience in working with refugees and/or in an international organization
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English, ideally also in German
- Driving license and willingness to drive project car
Main responsabilities:
- Cooperating with the Ministry of Health and other actors towards integration and consolidation of sustainable Psychosocial Support in the health system, including psychosocial support for school children and psychosocial support for women who experienced violence, and construction work towards rooms for psychosocial support and accessibility for people with disabilities
- Review material and create content for flyers and brochures for the MHPSS projects topic.
- Prepare the content, design, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars and other events on issues connected with the projects area of activity
- Advise on and implement psychosocial support trainings and follow-up support and monitoring, e.g. on psychosocial support for female survivors of violence, psychosocial support of children and adolescents, staff care self care
- Planning, implementation and strengthening sustainability of measures on staff-care and self-care with the Jordanian Ministry of Health Support Ministry and selected health centers
- Support project with monitoring, impact measuring, learning, reporting, translating, tasks related to public relations
- Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, follow-up with consultants and partners, collaborate with other team members towards successful project implementation
- Joint MHPSS related meetings, inform about project activities, network towards coordination and collaborations for sustainable psychosocial support structures
- Perform other tasks as requested by the project manager
