Base and Facility Officer (Part-time)
CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical
assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières is seeking to hire a Base and Facility Officer for its office in Amman.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Carrying out or supervising all maintenance logistics activities in the base (vehicles, fuel consumption, and local infrastructure) according to MSF standards and protocols in order to have the material, infrastructure and vehicles in optimal running conditions
Accountabilities:
- Planning vehicles movements, tracking individual trips, and ensuring implementation of security measures
- Tracking consumption of supplies, fuel, lubricants, used in different facilities (office, house, store, etc.).
- Checking the maintenance of the various open spaces (gardens, courtyards...) and ensuring that domestic waste is correctly discarded
- Checking and ensuring the maintenance of MSF premises and facilities, as well as the general water supply, electrical, walls, ceilings ect. and security conditions. In this sense, making inspection visits to assess the rehabilitation needs of facilities.
- Performing maintenance of logistics equipment for cold chain, energy, IT and radio communications, in particular:
- Inventories and the reallocation of equipment.
- Renewing the authorization to use radio material with local authorities.
- Checking the quality of the work carried out on generators and electrical installations.
- Preparing orders for his sector activity, do the follow-up, and checking their proper reception and state.
- Carrying out local purchases and ensuring that the line manager is aware of any problems linked to the quality or availability of the items to be purchased.
- Participating in training at the request of the line manager.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
- Ensure effective management and maintenance of the Gaza Transit Project premises as needed in terms of logistic and supply needs
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for the Gaza Transit Project premises, tenants, and visitors by ensuring the effeictive safety and security measures in place
- Oversee and support the Security Officers responsible for the Gaza Transit Project premises, ensuring the effective implementation of security procedures and timely resolution of security-related issues
- Support and advise tenants on best practices in premises management, enabling effective maintenance and sustainable use of their rented apartments
- Coordinate with the Social Worker Team and the Country Office Logistics Supervisor as required
- Contribute to the management of non-Gaza Transit Project premises and undertake additional logistics-related tasks and assignments as directed by the Country Office Logistics Supervisor
- Assist in the management and oversight of the new hotel designated for RSH patients and caregivers, providing operational and facility support as required by the RSH Hospital Facility Manager
- Ensure that all logistics and administrative needs of the Gaza Transit Project are identified, coordinated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner to support uninterrupted operations
- Ensure effective logistics and administrative reporting and budget follow-up for the Gaza Transit Project, providing regular updates and documentation to support operational oversight and decision-making.

Work location: Amman, Jordan
Contract: Three (3) Months Fixed-term contract – Part Time – (Renewable)
