Job Description and Requirements
The MMS is seeking to English Language and Literature teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP)
curriculum for English Language and Literature to Grades 6 and 7 students. 
 
Description of the IB MYP English Language and Literature Course: 
 
Designed to instill a deep appreciation for language and literature in students. 
Encourages students to explore a wide range of literary genres, cultures, and text types, fostering a global perspective. 
characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, connecting language and literature to other subject areas, enriching the learning experience. 
Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking skills, fostering a love for reading and writing, and nurturing an understanding of the power of language in communication and self-expression. 
promotes inquiry-based learning, where students engage in critical analysis of texts and explore real-world issues through a language and literature lens. 
Encourages students to make connections between the course content and the broader global context, emphasizing an appreciation for different cultures and perspectives. 
 
All candidates must demonstrate the following attributes:
 
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, or a related field. 
-Teaching certification is preferable 
-Relevant teaching experience with a minimum of 2 years. 
-Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) curriculum, particularly in English Language and Literature. 
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
-Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
