This is to announce that Amman delegation has a vacancy for a Trainer at the Learning & Development Department in Amman, Jordan.
The Trainer 3 is an active member of the Regional Learning Unit -LRU- and contributes to meeting its objectives. S/he leads and/or co-facilitates ICRC LnD learning programmes/courses. These can be: a) Global onboarding LnD programmes such as Working at the ICRC -WICRC-, Staff Integration Programme -SIP- or Security Awareness and Field Experience -SAFE-; b) Leadership and Management programmes such as Leadership and Management Stepping Stones -LMSS-, Humanitarian Leadership and Management School -HLMS- or other L&M courses designed for junior Managers; c) Ad hoc courses delivered by the Regional Unit to cover specific needs of a given delegation or at a regional level.
The trainer actively supports and assists participants in continuing their learning process through reflective practice and in rooting adapted behaviours within their working environment. S/He promotes adult learning practices among the LnD professionals in the AoR. S/He also contributes to the ongoing design, evolution, monitoring and evaluation of those programmes as well as the design and delivery of new or revised programmes in collaboration with the global or regional LnD team.
Trainer 3 has a regional and supra-regional remit. Requires travelling.

- Prepared and motivated to develop knowledge and skills in adult education and/or leadership training through formal development programs.
- Be aware of LnD’s policies, objectives and activities at the regional level.
- Be aware of and contribute to the main goals and priorities of the ICRC regions covered.

RELATIONSHIPS
- Internally, Interacts with all ICRC LnD team, uses their expertise and solicits their support. When necessary interacts with the delegation focal points for learning and development, HR managers, resource persons and learning programme participants.
- Externally, interacts with learning and development service providers as well as external resource persons.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate, co-facilitate or lead LnD courses.
- Contributes to designing, developing, implementing and evaluating learning and development of new or revised LnD programs and coordinates with the global level.
- Contribute to leveraging the collective knowledge of the LnD and L&M communities of practice for enhancing peer learning and integrating the lessons learnt into practice.
- Supervises the administrative and logistical organization of their learning and development programmes as well as other ad hoc courses and carries out related reporting.
- Supports the ongoing evolution of learning modules, ensuring that their content is in line with the ICRC’s strategic direction and the People Management Strategy.
- Technically manages, trains and coaches trainers, training relays and administrative staff working on their programmes.
- Contributes to or leads the delivery of the learning modules during the distance, face-to-face and work-based learning phases and supports individuals’ learning processes within the respective programmes as required; provides coaching and support, especially during the distance learning and work-based learning phases.
- Ensure that LHLnD courses are always offered in full confidentiality (a safe space for the participants). The facilitators will always respect the discretion and confidentiality of the learning process (and outcomes) for participants. At the same time, s/he ensures that critical information that could be relevant and provide added value to the institution is shared confidentially with specific people during or after the courses.
- S/he can be appointed as a regional focal point for one or more specific programs (SIP/SAFE/WICRC) or any of the L&M courses needed and represents the Unit in its global coordination meetings, discussions, planning, follow-up, etc. and leads the internal discussions for the Unit’s contributions to the monitoring and evaluation of the program.
- Can act as global coordinator for specific programmes, managing the worldwide delivery.
- May manage Trainer 1 and 2 or a team of trainers.
- Contributes to learning needs analysis for individuals, units, teams or delegations.
- Provides inputs for the unit’s annual planning by contributing to the formulation of regional priorities and strategies for learning and development.
- Share significant learning outcomes (and/or process) and lessons learnt with other LnD team members.
- Actively contribute to the development of a facilitators’ community of practice.
- When responsibilities for the facilitation, co-facilitation or other tasks related to the L&M programmes, in the respective LRU or at the global level, are assigned to her/him, the time dedicated to those duties is defined by the Head of the Unit and is regularly reviewed jointly with her/his line and functional managers.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Masters’ degree or equivalent.
- Training qualification required.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in training design and delivery (or 10 years of experience with the ICRC or within the humanitarian sector in multiple contexts)
- Management expertise very strong asset.
- Experience in management and leadership training is also a very strong asset.
- Strong and proven competence in training design and delivery (needs analysis, pedagogical design, course facilitation, monitoring and evaluation).
- Strong communication skills. And a strong ability to handle big groups of diverse adult learning participants
- Ability to share best practices, receiving and giving open feedback
- Ability to establish a conducive environment in training and training related activities.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Arabic. (Other language skills, such as French, Spanish, Russian are assets)
- Programme management certification an asset
- Computer proficiency.
