Job Description and Requirements

This is to announce that Amman delegation has a vacancy for a Movement Coordination Officer at the Coordination department in Amman, Jordan.

The Movement Cooperation Officer contributes to the development and implementation of the delegation's overall objectives for cooperation with the Movement as aligned to the ICRC Movement policies and in consultation with the JNRCS. S/he contributes to building positive relationships between the ICRC and the Movement components, particularly with the JNRCS. Specifically, s/he is responsible for the timely implementation of joint projects and works closely with JNRCS on plans of action and prepares monthly reconciliation of project accounting and quarterly narrative reporting. S/he contributes to adapting working tools and provides guidance and coaching to the JNRCS and other departments on reporting standards and best practices. S/he provides general administrative and logistical support as needed.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internally, interacts with the Cooperation Coordinator and other staff working with the JNRCS.
  • Externally, interacts with technical staff of the Jordan National Red Crescent Society

General Duties:

  • Be aware of the delegations’ objectives and activities.
  • Understands the roles of the components of the Movement and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles
  • Understands and adheres to the ICRC code of conduct.
  • Apply the security rules at all times.
  • Respect and observe the staff regulations of the ICRC in Jordan.
  • Develops and maintains a conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers.
  • The employee may be asked to perform other duties not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when and if necessary.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the implementation of the operational partnership between the ICRC and the JNRCS and works closely with the delegation to develop joint procedures and partnership agreements.
  • Contributes to the institutional reporting, planning, and budgeting with active participation to the annual planning process with budget preparation, financial reviews, and project reporting.
  • Supports partner capacity-building initiatives through joint field trips and joint assessments.
  • Facilitates open communication between the JNRCS and ICRC on joint initiatives and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Contributes to maintaining a constant overview of the National Society and Movement’s activities, capacities, and affairs.
  • Contributes to organizing various Movement meetings.
  • Supports the Cooperation Coordinator in running the Cooperation department, on partnership and coordination related matters.
  • Ensures that the JNRCS provides relevant operational, monthly financial and quarterly narrative reports according to established formats and procedures; specifically.
  • Is responsible for the consolidation of monthly project activity reporting and submission to Administration.
  • Actively track expenses with consistent follow-up on implementation of projects.
  • Analyse monthly invoices, vouchers and supporting documents to ensure compliance to ICRC financial and reporting standards.
  • Supports financial and analytical accounting reviews in collaboration with finance and administration.
  • Provides training and regular coaching on project finance and reporting to JNRCS staff and ICRC teams.
  • Is responsible for department information management for document filing according to the ICRC and Information Management procedures.
  • Actively participates to mandatory Due Diligence assessments. 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • University degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent command (spoken and written) of English and Arabic
  • Computer proficiency
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in the humanitarian/development field
  • Experience with Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and/or volunteering is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible and empathetic with a service-oriented people centric approach
