The Program / Department / Team
The Informal Livelihoods Advancement Activity (Iqlaa), funded by the United States Government, is a five-year program that started in May 2022 and aims to support Jordan's home-based, micro, and small businesses to grow, transform, and become resilient to future challenges. Iqlaa’s approach explores new ways of doing business and improving access to finance, markets, and services. It focuses on four sectors: agriculture, tourism and hospitality, manufacturing, and services, with a special focus on technology integration. The program encourages and supports the participation of all MSE-owner segments.
Implementing Organizations: Mercy Corps (lead implementer), Andersen for Legal and Tax Consultancy, Dalberg, Expectation State, Middle East Investment Initiative (MEII), Migrate-Jordan, and American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham).
The Position
The Mentorship Intern supports the implementation and coordination of mentorship program activities by assisting with mentor and MSE engagement, session scheduling, interview coordination, and training logistics. The role involves maintaining regular communication with participants, tracking mentorship progress, collecting and organizing program documentation, and ensuring smooth execution of mentorship sessions and events. The intern also supports administrative and operational tasks that contribute to the effective delivery and monitoring of the mentorship intervention, in addition to other Iqlaa interventions where applicable.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Administrative Support
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of mentorship activities, including mentorship plans, attendance sheets, and training materials.
• Collect, organize, and archive MSEs mentorship plans and related program documentation.
• Prepare and print training materials, certificates, attendance sheets, and other required documents for mentorship activities.
• Support tracking and reporting of mentorship sessions and participant engagement.
• Ensure proper filing and maintenance of mentorship-related records and administrative documents.
2. Mentorship Coordination and Participation Support
• Support in the coordination and follow-up on mentorship sessions between mentors and MSEs to ensure timely implementation.
• Support in coordination and communication regularly with mentors and MSEs regarding session schedules, requirements, and program updates.
• Support the arrangement and scheduling of mentor and MSE interviews, including sharing meeting links and confirming attendance.
• Follow up with mentors and MSEs to ensure participation in interviews, training sessions, and mentorship activities.
• Provide logistical and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of mentorship reflection sessions, partner meetings, and mentor onboarding training.
3. Support for Iqlaa Components and Program Events
• Support the coordination and implementation of activities across other Iqlaa components, as needed, including workshops, events, meetings, and field-level activities.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for Iqlaa events, including preparing materials, coordinating attendance, supporting venue arrangements, and assisting with participant registration and follow-up.
• Support communication with participants, partners, service providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of component activities and events.
• Assist in organizing event documentation, including attendance sheets, photos, participant lists, feedback forms, and other required records.
• Support the team in tracking event-related tasks, timelines, and logistical requirements to ensure activities are implemented efficiently and in line with program needs.
• Provide ad hoc operational and coordination support to Iqlaa components, as requested by the supervisor and program team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & TRANSFERABLE SKILLS
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, social science, or a related field.
• Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage deadlines efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

LIVING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The position is based in Amman, Jordan, with regular travel to project sites across governorates. Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours and are expected to conduct themselves professionally and adhere to Mercy Corps’ policies at all times.
