King Hussein Cancer Center is seeking to hire the following vacancy:

Manager, Information Technology Department

Job Requirements:

  1. Strategic
    1. Assess information technology needs of KHCC and develop short- and long-term plans to meet requirements
    2. Develops policies and procedures to ensure KHCC compliance with best practices for information governance, data management, cybersecurity,
    3. Conducts internal risk assessments for IT services and applies needed corrective

 

  1. Manage IT operation including
    1. Provide timely and satisfactory support service to KHCC departments.
    2. Ensure efficient operation of the IT Department and ensures budgetary compliance.
    3. Oversee the deployment of new IT initiatives inside and outside of the department.
    4. Ensure the reliability of KHCC computing platforms both on and off premise.
    5. Implements best-practice cybersecurity
    6. Provides timely utilization reports to KHCC management.
    7. Manage all aspects of the IT department including staffing efficiency, competencies, and quality.

 

  1. Technical
    1. Demonstrate strong proficiency in selecting and operating various platforms including servers, operating system such as Microsoft, Linux, Azure, network, security appliances,
    2. Utilize project management expertise to execute projects in a timely manner.

 

  • Provide advice to other senior managers and boards on IT issues.
  • Prepare and present reports to the management of proposed information technology systems, including the effect on all users, impact on computer resources, anticipated costs and benefits, and equipment, times, and personnel needs.
  • Primary responsibility for planning, developing and directing implementation of automated systems. Develop and submit for approval plans for automated systems. Present reports to management on proposed computer applications.
  • Ability to evaluate the financial and administrative feasibility of recommended solution to common problems.
  • Responsible for the FINAL recommendation on all IT related acquisitions.
  • Evaluate and make appropriate recommendations for enhancement or replacement of existing automated systems based on new technological advances.
  • Set and implement internal IT regulations.
  • Oversee the provision of training for users.
  • Establish priorities for systems developments, maintenance and operations.
  • Review the overall IT security policies at the Center.
  • Direct the integration of IT operations, computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications and data processing to fulfil the requirements.
  • Manage the IT team, and perform/supervise all administrative issues.
  • Plan, assign, oversee, and review the performance of personnel assigned to projects
  • Establish and oversee schedules of time and costs for each phase in developing new computer applications.
  • Prepare and develop IT policies and procedures and follow up on their correct implementation.
  • Provide problem analysis support to diagnose and remedy problems in operating procedures, computer hardware, system software, and computer application programs.
  • Oversee the writing of operating procedures for user and computer operating personnel.
  • Conduct systems analysis and design studies and prepare concept and design specifications.
  • Serve as project leader/manager and monitor and reviews the work performance of IT personnel assigned to projects.
  • Analyze departmental system’s needs, make recommendations and design the most effective means to satisfy those needs.
  • Responsible for the evaluation and recommendation for all IT related acquisitions.
  • Responsible for the placement and development of the appropriate professional staff needed to maintain the automated environment and support end users.
  • Oversee day-to-day relationships with IT vendors to ensure efficient operation of systems.
  • Monitor new information requirements identified by users; plan and implement system modifications.
  • Supervise and control the day-to-day operations of the Center’s IT department.
  • Review, assess and improve controls for automated systems.
  • Develop standardized documentation for all major systems, both manual and automated.
  • Might be required to assist in locations outside the Center.
  • Any other related duties may be assigned by direct supervisor.

 

Education and Professional Experience (essential minimum requirement):

  • BSc degree in a related engineering or computer science disciplines. Master’s degree is preferable.
  • Minimum 10 years for BSc and 8 years for master of experience.
  • Three years of the professional experience in a similar administrative position preferably in healthcare.
  • Excellent command of English
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
