Coordinate the activities of the department with other departments of the hospital.
Ensure policies and internal procedures are maintained within the department.
Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage of the department’s operations and activities.
Prepare and maintain the department’s budget.
Ensure that the employees have received required training.
Coordinates and communicates with other departments and other external agencies, and observe that hospital has received the proper value for services.
Ensure that the safety requirements are followed within the department.
Provide and coordinate support to users and purchasing department related to technical input required for pre-purchasing of medical, clinical, imaging and lab equipment. This includes committee’s membership, chairmanship involvement and assignment.
Approves all technical specifications for biomedical equipment prepared by other engineers or end-users prior to procurement procedures.
Evaluate equipment requests and asses their need and/or if related service can provided by using similar equipment in other departments.
Develops annual medical equipment replacement plan for each KHCC department with medical equipment.
Maintains accurate records for all medical machinery in accordance with JCIA requirements.
Maintains accurate records for machine down-time and ensure the maintenance is done in accordance with maintenance agreements.
Immediately reports to senior management about any breakdown of machinery that may affect patient safety, delays in treatment, or interruption of service.
Prepares needed Job Orders for maintenance of biomedical equipment.
Takes leadership of all major biomedical equipment implementation at KHCC coordinating with requesting department, vendors, materials management, maintenance, and other departments with connection to successful and timely implementation.
Approves commissioning reports for all new medical equipment installed in the center
Education and Professional Experience (essential minimum requirement):
BSc Degree in a related engineering discipline (Biomedical, Electrical, Electronic, Clinical, or Biomechanical). Master degree is preferable.
Minimum 10 years for BSc and 8 years for master of experience in as biomedical engineer preferably in an equivalent institution/organization.
Three years of them professional experience in a similar administrative position
Excellent command of English.
Excellent communication skills and Ability to work under pressure.
