MENA Regional Human Resources Coordinator

 

Position Start Date :  01.07.2025

Type of contract: for the administrative reasons related to the work permit in Jordan, for this position Tdh proposes: 24 months contract (international assignment) or an open-ended contract (local assignment)

Location :   Amman, Jordan

Context :

Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh), Switzerland’s largest children’s rights organisation, is restructuring its organisational model in order to get closer to children and young people in vulnerable situations accross approximately thirty countries where it operates.

In Tdh’s new organisational model, the headquarters takes on the role of a centre of expertise, enabling the organisation to act effectively in favour of the respect, protection and promotion of children’s rights while providing overall steering, strategy, policy development, monitoring, compliance and informed leadership.

In Middle East and North Africa, Tdh works directly in 7 countries (Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria), with a regional office located in Amman, Jordan.

 

As a key regional HR leader, this role serves as a strategic partner in aligning human resources practices with organizational priorities. It ensures that global HR frameworks and standards are effectively adapted and implemented across the region, fostering a consistent, high-quality employee experience. Through close collaboration with country offices and cross-functional teams, the role drives operational excellence, builds organizational capacity, and cultivates a culture rooted in equity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Main responsibilities:

 

Leads the promotion, implementation, and continuous improvement of global HR frameworks, standards, processes, and tools at the regional level, while actively contributing to their definition. Key areas of responsibility include:

- Organisational and workforce planning

- Talent sourcing, recruitment, and onboarding

- Talent management, mobility, and team deployment

- Learning and development

- Compensation and benefits

- Legal, administrative, and payroll management

- Duty of care, including health and workplace safety

- Internal communication and employee relations

Monitors and reports on regional HR performance, including key indicators and emerging issues. Ensures systematic reporting of regional HR activities.

Promotes a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and interdisciplinary collaboration across the region.

Facilitates and encourages cross-country collaboration to foster a culture of knowledge sharing, critical reflection, collective learning, and effective partnership.

Conducts analyses and provides strategic advice to stakeholders on HR-related challenges and required actions at the regional level.

Oversees the HR management of the regional office, either directly or through support to country offices.

Provides ongoing support to country office teams across the MENA region through regular visits and engagement.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

We are seeking a candidate who brings a strategic HR mindset, strong regional experience, and a collaborative leadership style. The ideal candidate will be a trusted partner capable of aligning human resources strategies with organizational goals, while fostering an inclusive and values-driven workplace culture across diverse country contexts.

The candidate should possess a solid background in managing HR functions at both strategic and operational levels, ideally within international or humanitarian organizations. A deep understanding of the regional landscape—particularly the MENA region—is essential, along with the ability to navigate complex cultural, legal, and organizational environments.


Education : Diploma: Master's degree in HR or any other relevant degree

Experience / Skills :

A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position at regional level, or at least 3 years' of international experience in an HR Coordinator position at country level with international non-governmental organisations, in the humanitarian and international development sector. Experience in Mena region is a plus.

Experience of working in emergency response.

Proven experience in mastering the various aspects of HR activities of the employee's cycle: administrative management, recruitment, legal standards, career management and talent management, evaluations, learning & development, end of collaboration, conflict management, etc.

Languages :
Mandatory written and spoken languages: English

Languages appreciated: Arabic and/or French


IT knowledge :
Mastery of the Microsoft Office package – Advanced level in Excel Mastery of HR/Payroll management software. Knowledge of HOMERE software is a plus
