The GIZ Jordan Project Innovative Approaches to Financial Inclusion for MSMEs in Jordan –I-FIN” in Jordan is seeking to hire Junior Financial Systems and Insurance Advisor, Focus: Private Financial Sector". 

Qualifications and Specialist knowledge:

  • University degree (B.Sc.) in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Political Science, or other relevant discipline
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the field of financial inclusion or MSME promotion, preferably in an international context
  • Good understanding of the role of financial service providers and fintechs
  • Good knowledge of financial education or awareness/marketing campaigns in the financial sector
  • Ability to quickly familiarise oneself with new topics and to present them in a structured, intuitively understandable way.
  • Ability and willingness to cooperate with others in a team, good communication skills and strong sense of self-initiative.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the component manager and other team members in steering and implementing project activities aimed at improving financial intermediaries’ (banks and non-bank financial institutions incl. microfinance) capacities to deliver innovative financial services that are tailored to the needs of Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
  • Support the component manager in project management tasks related to contract management, commission management, preparation of follow-on commissions, or cluster-related requests
  • Support the provision of technical and conceptual advisory to local financial intermediaries on designing innovative MSME finance offerings and MSME-centered marketing and awareness campaigns and material.
  • Support monitoring and reporting of outcomes and indicators progress in the component
  • Draw up presentation documents, technical reports, Terms of Reference and concept notes on topics related to MSME finance
  • Support the establishment of cooperations with financial intermediaries, and establish robust working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders through regular contact and good flow of information.
  • Organise consultancy missions, meetings, workshops, events, study tours, both on a national and regional level, as needed.

About the project

The project “Innovative approaches for the financial inclusion of MSMEs in Jordan (I-FIN)” aims at improving the access to innovative financial services for growth-oriented micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Jordan. I-FIN supports the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) in improving the legal and regulatory framework as well as supply and demand of innovative financial services for MSMEs, such as such as crowdfunding, leasing or factoring. The project is structured in four intervention areas, which aim to (1) enhance the capacity of the Central Bank of Jordan to foster a conducive environment for innovative MSME financing; (2) strengthen financial intermediaries’ capacity to provide innovative financial services to MSMEs; (3) improve growth-oriented MSMEs’ capacities to access innovative financial services; (4) improve the institutional conditions for women-led MSMEs to access innovative financial services. The project is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with co-financing from the Dutch Directorate General for International Cooperation (DGIS) and lasts until 31/10/2025, with a planned follow-on project until 10/2029.
