Amideast/Jordan seeks to procure the services of EL instructors to conduct English training courses.

English Language Trainers' Contract is based on hourly rate. And the Contractor will be paid upon completion of required hours.

As a native-English-speaking trainer, s/he provides English language training for a skills development program through Amideast/Jordan working with military students throughout Jordan. S/he can deliver high-quality training through general English and conversation courses, test preparation for various exams, and customized courses for academic and specialized purposes.

Required Services:

• Deliver English language courses and instruction to classes of up to 25 students using curriculum developed by the Defense Language Institute English Language Center curriculum (DLIELC), specifically, the American Language Course (ALC) curriculum;
• Design supplementary materials as needed and where beneficial for the development of trainees. All materials require pre-approvals by Amideast prior to using in any classroom setting and/or sharing with trainees;
• Develop and deliver workshops and seminars based on identified needs;
• Punctual delivery of training for all scheduled courses/classes both on-site and off-site as needed;
• Attend instructors' meetings as required by the Program Manager;
• Follow the designed syllabus for the course aligning with the designated base’s annual plans and calendars;
• Maintain daily attendance and performance records, using specific tools provided by Amideast;
• Submit weekly student performance reports as required. Provide feedback and reporting to supervisors on a weekly basis, using specific tools provided by Amideast;
• Attend Trainers' meetings and training workshops organized by Amideast and as communicated through the Program Manager;
• Design, adapt, and align student performance assessments to expected outcomes as directed by Amideast;
• Correct homework, quizzes and all assignments;
• Assist in activities designed for student development;
• Complete a timesheet for the Financial Return on an hourly basis;
• Assure that English proficiency is being measured through the structured tools provided by Amideast. Report on students' progress bi-monthly to the Program Manager;

Qualifications

• Must be a native or near-native English speaker;
• TESL/TEFL /CELTA or at least 10+ years of EFL experience is required
• A bachelor's or undergraduate degree in a field such as English literature, linguistics, or education.
• A master's or graduate degree in TESOL, education, or applied linguistics is a plus;
• Excellent English communication, organizational, time management and presentation skills;
• Enthusiastic, committed, and a team player;
• Possesses attention to detail in regard to lesson planning, managing classroom expectations, providing a framework for expected classroom behaviour, and ensuring student participation.
• Able to prioritize student outcomes and success using evidence-based teaching methodologies;
• Experience or familiarity with developing curriculum, designing customized courses, adapting and creating resources and materials that meet the needs of students
• Experience with providing instruction to students from CEFR level A1-C2;
• Ability to comply with strict rules regarding communication, dress-code, and general conduct in a military setting;
• Knowledge of English language teaching methods, approaches, and materials;
• Professional experience and familiarity with the MENA region and culture;
