Job Description and Requirements
The GIZ Jordan Project "Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment” is seeking to hire an “Economic Cooperation and Private Sector Development Advisor” for full-time base employment.
 
The Advisor performs the role of the North lead and technically oversees the team activities for micro and meso level implementation in the North of Jordan. He/she is responsible for driving network establishment, entrepreneur services, and private sector collaboration in the North with the North team and align with South team and sub-contracted parties. The North Lead will also manage technical team training, budgets, and performance indicators. Qualifications and Specialist Knowledge
  • Master’s in economics, Business Administration, Statistics Public Administration, Project Management, or other relevant fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project management/ coordination or similar experience
  • In-depth proven knowledge and experience in project management, procurement and contract management, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience with technical management of a team
  • Very good knowledge about Jordanian labour market and its institutional setup, knowledge about entrepreneurship is an asset
  • Experience in conceptualization, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars, events or similar
  • Extensive work experience in GIZ and its management tool “Capacity Works” is an asset.
  • Ability to understand complex interactions between different stakeholders and sectors
  • Language skills: Fluent spoken and written skills in English and Arabic, German Language is an asset 
  • Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems (telephone, e-mail, MS-Teams, internet)
 
Main Responsibilities 
Thematic Focus Area:
  • North Lead responsible for Output 2/3 North Team Implementation: Steer the establishment of networks, development and implementation of services for entrepreneurs guidance, in coordination with private sector in the North with North Team in consultation with Output 2/3 Lead; supporting and advising the decision-making in the North
  • Coordinator Output 3 ICON North implementation: Align with ideation/ leapfrogging/ acceleration project implementation of ICON and creation of business linkages between the private sector and Startups/SMEs in the North
  • On the job training of component colleagues on GIZ processes for North Team
Key Tasks:
  • North Lead responsible for technical implementation of Output 2/3 with North Team and responsible for linkages with the strategic direction on a national level for and Output 2/3 N0rth and Responsible for developing and monitoring budget for Output 2/3 North
  • Responsible for monitoring and achieving Team indicators Output 2/3 North & Responsible for leading within the North team the North contribution to the National Women network coordinated with colleagues from output 1 and South output 2 and 3.
  • Responsible for facilitating ICON goal/ indicator achievement in implementation in the North & responsible for ensuring ICON conceptual alignment with partner needs and activities in the North with key responsibility for coordinating complementarity of service provision between ICON and E4DE Team activities in the North & Key responsible for including the ICON team in Steering meetings with network hosts in the North and with service providers/ implementers for network set-up.
