- Project Background:
The Jordan USAID Himaya Activity aims to enhance the availability and quality of essential services and protection for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Jordan. The project has two outcomes: 1) survivor-centered institutional capacity improved, and 2) legislative frameworks for protecting survivors and responding to violence strengthened. To achieve these outcomes, the project will apply a survivor-centered systems-strengthening approach to improve prevention, response, and protection services, and to support the development and implementation of survivor-centered legislation and policies.
Role’s Purpose:
The Communications and Reporting Officer will work with the communications team to design and manage all aspects of internal and external project communications The Communications and Reporting Officer will contribute to the development of high-quality knowledge and learning content including data visualizations, success stories, case studies, newsletters, and other reporting that informs learning activities and support adaptive management decisions, contributing to the overall success and impact of the project. Travel might be required to governorates.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project technical team to ensure integration of communication efforts that complement and report on program activities.
- Execute and contribute to the project’s overall communications strategy.
- Under the supervision of the Communications Director, contribute to the communication, and visibility of the project's activities, achievements, and lessons learned, ensuring that project outcomes are effectively reported and portrayed.
- Deliver high-quality written communications materials, including but not limited to fact sheets, presentations, reports, and photo-reporting that effectively showcase the project's impact, lessons learned, and good practices.
- Develop regular updates and reports as per project requirement.
- Work closely with Himaya’s technical staff and subcontractors to identify and craft stories that showcase impact, lessons learned, and good practices.
- Support the coordination of key events and other activities with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce a wide range of communications materials and tools to advance Himaya objectives.
- Other duties assigned by the Communications Director.
- Travel to the field as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, or a relevant field; Advanced degree preferred.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in communications, including writing success stories, social media, report writing, and producing visual presentations.
- Experience conducting interviews and writing success stories that showcase project milestones.
- Knowledge in implementing branding and marking guidelines.
- Experience in implementing communication plans.
- Technical multimedia production skills (in the area of photography, videography, video editing audio editing, and/or graphic design) would be considered a distinct advantage.
- Prior work experience in USAID is required.
- Professional proficiency in English and Arabic, required.

- Attention to detail, able to manage one’s work, take initiative, set schedules and meet deadlines.
- Team player, who can coordinate across several teams within Himaya.
- Ability to communicate project activities and impact to a range of external and internal stakeholders.
Reporting
The Communications and Reporting Officer will report to the Communications Director.
