Responsibilities and Services 

1. Monitor patient before, during, and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications.Monitor patient conditions during treatments, procedures, or activities.
2. Record type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout procedure. Record patient medical histories
3. Provide and maintain life support and airway management and help prepare patients for emergency surgery. Implement advanced life support techniques
4. Prepare patients physically for medical procedures.   Administer anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal, or caudal methods
5. Administer anesthetics or sedatives to control pain. Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures
6. Examine patients to assess general physical condition.Position patient on operating table to maximize patient comfort and surgical accessibility.
7. Position patients for treatment or examination. Coordinate administration of anesthetics with surgeons during operation. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment. Decide when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to another room or ward or to be sent home following outpatient surgery. Monitor patient progress or responses to treatments
8. Confer with other medical professionals to determine type and method of anesthetic or sedation to render patient insensible to pain.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment Order laboratory tests, x-rays, and other diagnostic procedures. Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests.
9. Provide medical care and consultation in many settings, prescribing medication and treatment and referring patients for surgery.

• Refer patients to other healthcare practitioners or health resources.
• Prescribe treatments or therapies.
• Prescribe medications. 

      10. Manage anesthesiological services, coordinating them with other medical activities and formulating plans and procedures.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment. Direct healthcare delivery programs.

Diagnose illnesses, using examinations, tests, and reports.

Diagnose medical conditions.

Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians, and other health care providers. Supervise patient care personnel.

Schedule and maintain use of surgical suite, including operating, wash-up, waiting rooms, and anesthetic and sterilizing equipment.

Schedule medical facility use.
