CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed, or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, which opened in 2006, it is giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic, and maxillo-facial) to war-wounded people providing comprehensive health care, MSF aims at identifying and referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.

Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman is therefore open the vacancy to feed its pool of Admission Manager.

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be responsible for following up medical components of the referral pathways (from identification of patients in home countries, validation procedures to coordination with the hospital teams related to schedule of arrivals, admissions, discharges and requested follow-up after discharge).
  • Will monitor patients’ pathway from entry in the program to final discharge, facilitating interdisciplinary debates and decisions, implementing communication channels to patients and families regarding treatments plan and their evolvement.
  • Under guidance of the Networking Coordinator and with support of Medical Team, to oversee that the patients receive appropriate care and services as outlined in the treatment plan and in the allotted time frame aiming at developing patient centered approaches and managing relevant patients’ flow.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To ensure the supervision of all patients’ validation processes from referring countries, in accordance with program’s criteria: preparation and presentation of medical files to weekly validation committee, elaboration of treatment plans, after review with hospital’s medical team organization with the MLOs of the necessary external medical investigations.
  • To be responsible for the monthly schedule of patients’ admissions, together with the MLOs, in link with medical priorities, referring to countries’ context and needs, patients’ administrative status, logistic constraints and Hospital capacities.
  • Regarding patients’ management, to be the pivotal position between teams in referring countries and teams in the hospital: provide feedback and updates related to patients under validation processes, discharged from the hospital or under requested follow-up.

 

 

 

 

THE JOB PROFILE

  • A medical professional with 3–5 years of clinical experience, ideally in surgery or medical coordination, with a strong background inpatient admissions, referrals, or case management. Experience in humanitarian or NGO settings (especially MSF) is highly valued, along with proven ability to supervise medical support staff.
  • A professional with strong clinical assessment skills, capable of reviewing patient files, coordinating treatment and surgeries, and interpreting medical results. Experienced with medical validation processes, EMR systems, and medical reporting, with solid skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organizational and multitasking skills, adept at coordinating across cultures and working with vulnerable patients. Skilled in problem-solving complex scheduling and referrals, while maintaining discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • A flexible and empathetic team player who can work independently, adapt to changing environments, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with Arabic language skills highly desirable for effective communication in Middle Eastern contexts.

WORK LOCATION:           Mainly in Amman – Al Mowasah Hospital, also will require movement inside and outside Jordan based on work needs.

CONTRACT:                       Fixed term contract – Full Time – 6 months renewable.

STARTING DATE:              As soon as possible
