Job Description and Requirements

The USAID Health Services Quality Accelerator (HSQA) Activity

Dates of assignment: November 5, 2023 – September 30, 2024

Number of working days (equivalent to 8 hours/day): up to 60 days

Overview:

The USAID Health Services Quality Accelerator (HSQA) Activity aims to accelerate and sustain improvements in Jordan's reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) outcomes by improving access to quality health services and strengthening leadership and governance capacity in the health sector.

Responsibilities:

Specific assignments will be issued in individual WOAs, however, general assignments throughout the lifetime of the consultancy shall include:

  1. Support the implementation of, and build the capacity of healthcare providers on, the updated national CS guidelines for reducing unnecessary primary CS through hospital-based training workshops in all 20 Activity-supported public sector hospitals.
  2. Draft a national PPH response plan based on a thorough review of current international literature and best-practices to ensure the best possible guidelines for Jordan.
  3. Conduct meetings with the JMMSR NAG to discuss the draft PPH response plan and incorporate their expert feedback as needed to ensure their concurrence for the plan.

 

Reports required and deliverables:

  1. PPH facility-based plan and toolkit
  2. Training material for the PPH response plan capacity building program
  3. JMMSR NAG meetings report
  4. Training reports for the trainings conducted for National CS Guidelines and the national PPH response plan.

Qualifications:

  1. Ob/Gyn Specialty, preferably with strong experience in developing clinical guidelines and therapeutic protocols.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Ob/Gyn Specialist or Consultant; academic background preferred.
  3. Experience in conducting training using modern training techniques. 
  4. Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken), with strong communication skills.
  5. Professional documentation and technical writing skills.
  6. Previous experience consulting for USAID projects is a plus
