Job Description: Project Manager – Jordan WFP Agriculture Project

 

 

Location: Amman, Jordan (Travel to Irbid and Mafraq)

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual Project Manager to lead the implementation of our agricultural rainwater harvesting water infrastructure initiative in collaboration with the World Food Program (WFP) in Jordan. This role involves direct engagement with farmers, cooperatives, the Ministry of Agriculture, and internal teams to promote sustainable water solutions and co-financing models.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Farmer Engagement & Outreach
    • Conduct field visits to engage with pre-registered farmers, explaining project offerings and co-financing options.
    • Sign in farmers interested.
    • Present the benefits of Deploy's water tanks, including technical advantages and environmental impact.
    • Maintain regular communication with farmers to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Deploy, WFP, the Ministry of Agriculture, and local cooperatives.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management

 

 

  • Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with Deploy's team to coordinate logistics and technical support.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop outreach materials.
    • Support training and capacity-building initiatives for local partners and staff.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within the water utilities, agriculture or similar sector.
  • Proven experience working directly with farmers, rural communities and agricultural cooperatives.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture practices and water resource management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional in project management tools and software.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with international organizations such as WFP or similar NGOs.
  • Familiarity with Jordan's agricultural landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of co-financing models and public-private partnerships.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: 1,500JOD – 2,000JOD, commensurate with experience.
