Today, CARE’s programming in Jordan spans across the humanitarian-development-peacebuilding nexus to support the most vulnerable communities in Jordan, with a strong focus on Gender Equality, Women’s Economic Justice, Climate Justice, and protection/basic needs in Humanitarian contexts. 

The Procurement and Logistics Assistant supports procurement and logistical operations to ensure efficient delivery of goods, services, and logistical support for CARE Jordan. Key responsibilities include coordinating procurement processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, tracking deliveries, managing vendor relationships, overseeing warehouse operations, and supporting administrative and logistical needs for events, visitors, and staff.
The Procurement & Logistics Assistant reports to the Senior Procurement Officer.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITY 1:Procurement Support 35%
 
o Conducting daily procurement activities, adhering to CARE’s policies and procedures.
o Solicit and gather quotes from vendors and suppliers, conduct comparative analysis, and prepare recommendation reports.
o Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
o Monitor the receipt of bids and ensure adherence to deadlines and procurement policies. 
o Assist in preparing and issuing purchase orders (POs) and ensuring their timely approval and dissemination.
o Ensure compliance with CARE’s Procurement Manual and other applicable policies.
o Maintain strict confidentiality of specifications, quotations, and all procurement-related documents.
o Conduct regular market surveys to identify new suppliers, assess price trends, and benchmark costs.
o Ensure procurement transactions are complete, properly documented, and prepared for financial settlement.
o Support the preparation and publication of tender documents and advertisements.
o Assist in preparing procurement reports and trackers to monitor progress and compliance.
o Filing of all paperwork in the procurement department, such as vendor forms, agreements and other related documents.
o Ensure all procurement processes adhere to CARE’s policies, donor guidelines, and relevant legal requirements.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITY 2:Logistics Support 35%
 
o Inspect the quality of goods received and ensure compliance with agreed specifications.
o Monitor shipping details, quantities, and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
o Maintain accurate records of goods in warehouses and ensure proper documentation.
o Assist in negotiating and monitoring service contracts for premises, insurance, and utilities.
o Track and analyze monthly utilities, providing cost-saving recommendations.
o Check goods for quality, quantity, and condition.
o Record and maintain detailed logs of goods received and dispatched.
o Follow up on delivery schedules and ensure timely transportation of goods.
o Liaise with truck drivers and transport companies to arrange pickups and deliveries.
o Maintain clear and timely communication with suppliers, transporters, and recipients.
o Ensure that all shipments comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
o Ensure all administrative and logistical processes adhere to CARE’s policies, donor guidelines, and relevant legal requirements.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITY 3:Vendor Management 10%
 
o (Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, product ranges, etc)
o Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
o Communicate with suppliers and resolve any issues that may arise.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITY 4: Anti-Terrorism Compliance:
 
• Ensure that CARE Jordan comply fully with the anti-terrorism policy and documents all screening result for future reference.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITY 5:Perform other duties as assigned: 5%
 
Conduct basic orientation on the procurement procedures and on how to use People Soft.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITY 6:Responsibilities on Safety and Security, Gender and Inclusion and Safeguarding and Child Protection: 5%

Qualifications/Education/Training :
 
Required:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
 
Desired:• Aware of local market conditions
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies or related field.
• Flexibility in accepting work assignments
• Work as team player with people from different cultural backgrounds
• Must be guided by sound ethical principles and transparency on work
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good numerical skills to maintain accurate records
o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management tools (e.g., PeopleSoft, MS Office).
o Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
o Basic understanding of logistics, procurement processes, and contract management.
 
Experience/Technical Skills:
 
1–2 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or a related field.
