Job Description and Requirements

Job Title: Nurse Supervisor FSR# 709

Location: Amman 

Job Summary:

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high standards of patient care in accordance with organizational policies, MoH regulations, and best nursing practices. This role includes supervision of nursing personnel, coordination of patient care, scheduling of staff, and prompt resolution of administrative issues. The Nurse Supervisor serves as a key liaison among clinical staff, administration, and patients.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership:

  •  Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and MoH regulatory standards.
  •  Serve as the first point of contact for resolving nursing-related administrative concerns, escalating as needed.
  •  Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment through clear communication and consistent support.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching and feedback, and participate in performance development
  • Serve as the deputy to the Health Coordinator as required, including acting as the focal point for refugee health matters, participating in camp coordination and inter-sectoral meetings, facilitating mission visit planning, and providing technical input for proposal development and donor reporting.

Staff Scheduling & Coordination:

  • Develop, organize, and manage staff schedules and shift assignments to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
  • Adjust staffing levels in response to patient acuity, census, or unplanned absences.
  • Monitor time and attendance records and support efficient labor utilization.

Clinical Oversight:

  • Oversee the delivery of patient care to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to care standards.
  • Coordinate with physicians and administrative teams to maintain seamless care transitions.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with MoH and institutional policies.

Staff Development & Training:

  •  Lead onboarding and orientation for new nursing staff.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Organize in-service education programs and maintain competency validation records.

Compliance & Quality Improvement:

  • Monitor compliance with IMC and MoH regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of patient safety and evidence-based nursing practice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of total nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
