Job Summary
As a MHPSS Officer, your primary role is to provide direct supervision and mentorship to a team of psychological counselors, ensuring evidence-based psychological assistance for clients and their families facing mental health and psychosocial issues. This entails facilitating team meetings, offering on-site guidance to counselors, and coordinating the delivery of case management and psychosocial services. You'll also focus on team coaching and mentoring, ensuring documentation quality and field visits to monitor project activities. Moreover, your responsibilities include professional development initiatives, supervision styles, care plan development, multidisciplinary collaboration, risk assessments, SOP development, and training sessions for IMC staff and stakeholders. Ultimately, your role plays a critical part in maintaining high-quality services and client satisfaction, reflecting the values of IMC in supporting the community.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to a team of psychological counselors to provide evidence-based psychological assistance to support clients and their families with mental health and psychosocial issues.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and discussions, and provide on-site support and guidance to psychological counselors, offering insights, feedback, and recommendations for improving service delivery and addressing any challenges.
- Oversee and coordinate the provision of case management and psychosocial services to clients, families, and significant others to achieve maximum benefits from services.
- Take on team coaching and mentoring of team members.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to counselors on the quality and content of their assessment, reports, counseling notes, and other relevant documentation, to maintain consistency and compliance with project standards and best practices.
- Conduct regular field visits to MoSD centers and FPJD locations to monitor the implementation of project activities, ensure compliance with project objectives, and Foster strong relationships with stakeholders at MoSD centers and FPJD locations.
- Guide, mentor and supervise counsellors to provide evidence-based psychological assistance to support clients and their families with mental health and psychosocial issues.
- Ensure that all counsellors provide and up to date on evidence-based psychological interventions and advances in the field of psychology.
- Plan and work on professional development opportunities for the counsellors.
- Utilize different supervision styles and demonstrate peer supervision model.
- Improve forms utilization with a focus on bio-psychosocial model, assessments, care plans and mapping of community support services.
- Take on team coaching and mentoring of team members.
- Ensure that the developed initial care plan focus on any immediate safety concerns.
- Lead, guide and participate in case conferences, supervision and training opportunities.
- Develop and deliver trainings for staff on topics relevant to psychological practice and case management.
- Technical support to counsellors to provide and utilize various psychological counselling approaches
- Ensure that counsellors demonstrate and develop care plans that are individualized and mutually developed with the client.
- Monitor on-going care plan development with special attention to safety issues.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support staff to conduct risk assessments and advise staff on carrying out risk assessments and the development of safety plans.
- Oversee and coordinate the provision of case management and psychosocial services to clients, families, and significant others to enable these parties to deal with the impact of illness on individual family functioning and to achieve maximum benefits from services.
- Evaluate client satisfaction and quality of care provided.
- Provide progress feedback and reports on achievement and any other related topics needed.
- Coordinate provision of alternative nonrestrictive measure procedures and initiatives with MOSD and FJDP and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct training and skill development sessions on technical and nontechnical topics related to project for IMC staff and other stakeholders to enhance their understanding and response to issues
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals to ensure standardized provided services and streamline operations across various departments and programs
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by Supervisor

Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in psychology, or Psychological Counselling
- Minimum three years of experience in providing psychological and social support services.
- Minimum of one year of experience in team leadership or supervision.
- Psychologist License is given priority
- NGO experience is an asset
- Experience in family and couple counselling or dealing with perpetrators of any forms of GBV is preferable
- Higher Education is an asset
- Expert in Self Help Plus (SH+) is an asset
- Intermediate to Advance verbal and writing English skills
