The GIZ Jordan Project “German Energy Academy (GEA)” is seeking to hire a “Energy Advisor Focus Energy Transition Curricula Development based in Jordan- for full-time base employment.
The project will institutionalise the German Energy Academy (GEA) in Jordan as an independent, regionally valued and financially sustainable provider for training in energy transition. This is vital in light of the King´s announcement of a nationwide 50% renewable energy share by 2030, and the project will upskill skilled technicians in designing, building, operating and maintaining renewable energy and energy efficiency applications.
The project sets the institutional and financial frame for the GEA to act as a provider of practice-oriented and internationally certified qualifications for young people in Jordan and the region. GEA is already in operation and is actively collaborating with the private sector in Jordan and Germany.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) has appointed the Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) to implement this project, in collaboration with the Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) and the German-Jordanian University (GJU). The project is set to run for three years.

Location: Amman, with possibility of travelling as needed.
Emanating from GIZ’s role in enhancing and promoting the efficiency and competency of its political partners and entities and their respective employees, and in view of GIZ’s aim at maintaining and encouraging the stability of employment at its political partners and entities, this position will not be available to any official employee currently working at any of GIZ’s political partners, governmental ministry, department or entity, including any official employees who are on unpaid leave.
