The GIZ Jordan Project German Energy Academy is seeking to hire an “Energy Advisor – Focus: Outreach” based in Jordan- for full-time base employment.
In this role as Energy Advisor, you get to make a real difference by planning and facilitating all activities related to the regional and international outreach of the German Energy Academy (GEA) in Jordan. You'll be working closely with private companies and training institutions in the renewable energy sector to encourage their involvement, which is really exciting! You'll be responsible for the technical, substantive and organisational implementation of measures and activities, so you'll have the chance to make a positive impact. You'll be working closely with your line manager to plan, direct and monitor activities, and you might even get to support your colleagues with administrative tasks every now and then.
You'll be working together with the German commissioning party, national partners and other regional actors to make technical and organisational contributions to project issues. You'll be actively working towards achieving the agreed objectives of your tasks and providing impetus for further strategy development.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
• BSc in Renewable Energies, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in working in the private sector related to Renewable Energies
• Relevant experience in multi-stakeholder management is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in communication.
• Expertise in applying all standard office applications as well as manging state-of-the art communication tools
• Knowledge of GIZ processes including writing of Terms of Reference is an advantage
• Excellent communication and cooperation skills, outgoing, constructive, positive attitude
• Fluent written and oral knowledge of Arabic and English.
• Knowledge of German Language is an advantage.
• Willingness to upskill your knowledge and expertise in relation to the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures to be agreed with line manager
• Ability to cope with dynamic situation in international development cooperation
• Ability to cooperate with others.
Main Responsibilities
• Plan, support and help run all activities of the German Energy Academy (GEA) related to its work within the region and with private companies and training institutions.
• Support the communication planning and the execution of communication of the partner consortium consisting of two universities (HTU, GJU), the Amman Chamber of Industry and two German partners.
• Support project management including reporting tasks.
• Support the coordination of international and national consultancies.
• Check and supervise the financing agreements with project partners.
• Prepare meetings, seminars and workshops; project documents and outreach material.
• Organise various events in Jordan and the region, in coordination with project partners.
• Support knowledge management and monitoring for your output.
Location: Amman, with possibility of travelling within the region as needed.
