Job Title: Anesthesia Technician FSR# 689

Location: Azraq Camp 

BACKGROUND

Provide emergency medical assistance, such as CPR bandaging a wound. Quicly and efficiently,assess a patient's condition and determine the best course of treatment. Transport patients safely in an ambulance . Provide first aid or life support to patients who are sick or injured.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promote and maintain good quality standard of anesthetic care and hygiene in the OT
• Work in close collaboration with the Anesthetist to promote safe standards of anesthetic care
• Ensure that the OT/ Anne is adequately stocked with supplies and essential equipment
• Ensure that the OT/Anne department is functioning prior to routine programme and at all times prepared for emergency surgery
• Ensure that all necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are prepared and in- date for each intervention.
• Assist the Anesthetist in preoperative consultations
• Prepare operating room for planned procedures including setting up and testing monitoring devices, troubleshooting anesthesia equipment malfunctions; ensure proper functioning of equipment before any   anesthetic procedure
• Assist Anesthetist with monitoring of the patients, notifying the anesthesia provider of abnormal vital sign changes and/ or any abnormal appearance of the patient
• Manage airway maintenance techniques under the supervision of Anesthetist
• Assist the Anesthetist in providing post-operative care, including immediate post-operative surveillance in the recovery area, with a special focus on patient’s vital signs, pain relief and wellbeing during the stabilization and recovery process
• Clean anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment following procedures as per infection control procedures
• Obtain supplies and equipment following procedures as per requested by Anesthetist
• Implement the universal precautions at all times. Is aware of accidental blood exposure policy and procedure and implement correct procedure should an incident occur
• Collaborate with other departments of the hospital when required
• airway maintenance/ resuscitation in the emergency room
• resuscitation of a neonate/ laboring mother in the maternity department
• Document patient care services by charting in patients records per established standards
• Facilitate training and participate in the in-service training programmers
• Provide handover report between working shifts
• Participate in weekly nursing meetings
• support and cover Other departments specially ER department. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma degree of Anastasia Technician.
• 2 years of relevant and progressive experience
• Practicing Anastasia Technician profession
