Position Title: Sustainability and Development Coordinator
Background
IFH’s funded programs aim to advance community sustainability initiatives through an institutional approach, fostering positive community engagement, and implementing evidence-based strategies. These programs focus on achieving long-term sustainability goals, increasing revenue streams, and creating educational and employment opportunities for community members.
Position Overview
Under the supervision of the IFH Deputy Director – in close coordination with IFH Executive Director and Project Manager and IOCC Country Representative, Senior Project Manager the Sustainability and Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing sustainable development initiatives while establishing strategic partnerships to support the long-term success of IFH’s programs, including starting with supporting the sustainability of IFH’s partnership with IOCC in implementation of activities supported by the U.S. Department of State Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM). In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for developing and leading sustainability initiatives, such as crowdfunding campaigns and developing digital marketing strategies to enhance community engagement and support fundraising goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Program Development
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive sustainability strategies.
- Advise senior management on sustainable development initiatives, risks, and regulatory changes with monitoring and evaluation framework to measure impact.
- Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for sustainability initiatives.
- Develop innovative approaches to community engagement and participatory planning.
- Create tools for sustainability assessment and impact measurement.
2. Partnership Management and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with:
- Government entities and regulatory bodies
- Private sector entities
- International and national development agencies
- Community-based organizations
- Academic institutions
- Develop partnership frameworks and memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among partners.
- Participate in evaluation of sustainability programs in coordination with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) team.
- Collaborate directly with beneficiaries to highlight their needs in sustainability measures.
3. Community Engagement, Innovation and Capacity Building
- Design and implement community-led initiatives to encourage local recruitment for services.
- Lead capacity building of IFH staff in development and fundraising through training, mentoring and coaching, and other methods.
- Research emerging sustainability trends, best practices, and new technologies.
- Identify opportunities for innovation that could improve the organization’s environmental impact, operational efficiency, and social responsibility.
4. Lead Sustainability Initiatives Crowdfunding and Digital Marketing
- Design and implement 5 sustainability initiatives, such as crowdfunding campaigns, to support IFH activities and engage broader community participation in funding IFH’s work.
- Develop Digital fundraising strategies, including social media and online content, to promote sustainability activities and increase public awareness of these initiatives and donation and fundraising opportunities.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create content that highlights program impacts, success stories, and donor engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of sustainability initiatives, such as digital marketing and crowdfunding efforts, optimizing strategies based on data and feedback.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Sustainable Development
- Community Development
- Public Policy
- International Development
- Related fields
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional certifications in project management, sustainable development, or digital marketing are desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years in:
- Public-private partnerships
- Community programming
- Project management
- Stakeholder engagement
- Crowdfunding or digital fundraising
- Proven success in:

Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills
- Proficient in sustainability management, monitoring and evaluation, budget management, report writing, with familiarity in sustainable reporting framework such as GRI, sustainability data analysis, and digital marketing tools.
Communication
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
