Generations For Peace is supporting one of its partners, the Jordan Olympic Committee, in recruiting for the following position: 

 

Jordan Olympic Committee: 

The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is the governing body for sports in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Founded in 1957, the JOC became the nurturing body for 34 Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations in the kingdom, laying down the foundation and trail to develop and rise up with the state of sports in Jordan. 

  • Careful planning led by HRH Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein enabled the JOC to develop the sports scene in Jordan with both consistency and vision positioning Jordan as a key, medal winning participant in all the major sports events both regionally and internationally . 
  • Administrative efforts by the JOC were praised by the international sports community  pinpointing Jordan as a healthy and worthy host for numerous Arab, Asian and international sporting events and championships such as the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in 2016. 
  • Recognizing Jordan’s efforts in reshaping and bettering the sports scene both regionally and internationally, HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2010 among other honorary positions. 
  • Given the role played and demonstration of the highest levels of commitment to sports betterment, Dr Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) named the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) in “the world’s Top 10%” Olympic Committees, cementing the Jordan Olympic Committee and its efforts as a role model raising standards in the sports world and a key player in the future of sports.

Job Summary

The Receptionist at the Olympic Preparation Center and Program (OPC/OPP) provides outstanding reception services to visitors, athletes, and technical staff. The role involves greeting and guiding visitors, organizing schedules and appointments, responding to phone and email inquiries, and ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the center. The position also requires maintaining a professional work environment and interacting with visitors and athletes with respect and professionalism. Additionally, the employee will coordinate with different departments to facilitate daily operations and ensure a positive experience for all individuals in the center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome athletes, staff, visitors, and VIPs with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, directing them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls, emails, and messages, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Provide information about the Olympic Preparation Center, including schedules, facilities, and upcoming events.
  • Assist with check-in and check-out processes for athletes, staff, and guests staying at the facility, or training.
  • Manage and coordinate meeting rooms, ensuring they are properly set up and maintained.
  • Support the scheduling of appointments, training sessions, or events for athletes & staff.
  • Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure readiness and upkeep of shared spaces.
  • Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records.
  • Handle mail and deliveries, ensuring they are distributed promptly to the intended recipients.
  • Ensure the front desk and lobby areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping or maintenance to address any issues in the reception area.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Preferably, training courses in front office operations, customer service, or administrative support.

Professional Competencies

  • A minimum of a high school diploma (Tawjihi).
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs (such as Microsoft Office, booking management systems, email) and modern communication tools.

Personal Competencies

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, athletes, staff, and VIPs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively organize schedules and appointments.
  • Capability to manage unexpected situations and solve problems efficiently.
  • Familiarity with providing high-quality service to visitors and athletes while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
