Job Description and Requirements

Job Title: Pharmacist FSR # 726

Location: Azraq and Zaatari Camps

Reports to: Senior Pharmacist

Job Summary: 

The Pharmacist will primarily support the pharmacist team in both azraq and Zaatari Camps. The pharmacy will be responsible for the drug dispensing, also organize and manage the pharmacy in both camps.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Drug Dispensing:

  • Distribute drug to patients according to doctor prescription
  • Provide clear instruction on how to take drug verbally and in writing on drug package;
  • Assess patient drug needs.
  • Communicate with the prescribing physician on prescriptions errors (drug-drug interactions, age/weight based dosing).

Organization and maintenance of the pharmacy and management of stock:

  • Organize proper layout of the pharmacy; 
  • Ensure all items are placed by category, in alphabetic order and have appropriate labels (bin cards): generic name, dosage form, strength, expiry date;
  • Help in the physical inventory on monthly basis
  • reply a justification on discrepancies on physical inventory.
  • Monitor/ report nearly expired medications.

Reporting:

  • Reports the weekly consumption figures to the pharmacy supervisor
  • Reports to the pharmacy supervisor the organizational, logistical, and administrative issues affecting the pharmacy (temperature reporting/ tools and equipment needs/ etc)
  • other reports on pharmacy as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience post graduate experience as a pharmacist in outpatient/ inpatient pharmacy or retail pharmacy setting.
  • Clinical experience working in remote setting is an advantage
  • NGO experience is a plus
