The Innovative Approaches to Financial Inclusion for MSMEs in Jordan – The I-FIN project in Jordan is seeking a “Financial Systems & Insurance Assistant "

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • University degree (B.Sc.) in Finance, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, International Development, Political Science, or other relevant discipline.
  • At least 1 year experience in a comparable position with focus on MSME promotion, Financial Inclusion or Digital Financial Services.                                                                                                
  • Good knowledge about FinTech and Regulatory Innovations
  • Good understanding of the role of the Central Bank of Jordan and their policy objectives.
  • Good knowledge in financial inclusion policies
  • Good knowledge about financial services providers
  • Fluency (excellent knowledge) in English and Arabic, both spoken and written. 
  • Ability and willingness to cooperate with others in a team, good communication skills and strong sense of self-initiative.  

 

Main activities

  • Support the component manager and related team members in the implementation of project activities with the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) aiming at strengthening the regulatory framework for MSME finance.
  • Support monitoring and reporting of outcomes and indicators progress in the component and support the development of information and communication products about the component´s activities.      
  • Draw up technical reports, elaborate presentation documents and assist with studies on topics related to MSME finance and innovative approaches to regulate/mandate Financial Technology (FinTech) .
  • Support in the administrative, logistical and technical organization and debriefing of meetings and workshops with partners, and attend, when possible and/or necessary, events, workshops, and networking meetings of the project on a national and local level.      
  • Support the regular update of project management tools, e.g. work plans or stakeholder map, and continuously report on status and details of project implementation in team meetings as well as to the component manager and team leader.  

 

Scope of responsability

In your role you perform the specified commercial, organisational and administrative tasks correctly and on schedule in collaboration and consultation with your line manager, in accordance with the project/programme objective and with due regard for technical and methodological standards and legal, contractual and internal requirements and procedures.

You deal independently with specialist matters in the corresponding field, in accordance with your line manager’s instructions. You perform all the associated organisational and administrative tasks.

You work constructively with all internal and external colleagues in your area of responsibility. You ensure that information flows correctly, refer matters to other units as required and ensure that all processes run smoothly. Your key duties include maintaining appropriate internal and external communications.

In response to enquiries, you provide general information within your specialist area based on established processes and with due regard for compliance rules. You also provide information and advice on internal workflows.

You provide support for knowledge management and ongoing process development in your area of responsibility. You also prepare and share documentation.
