Position: Designer and Events Specialist

FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Designer and Events Specialist for the USAID Jordan Community Health and Nutrition project. The Community Health and Nutrition project aims to improve the nutritional status of pregnant and lactating women and children under the age of two in three target governorates in Jordan. The project seeks to support child and maternal health and nutrition by improving breastfeeding practices, introducing appropriate complementary foods at the right time, and ensuring appropriate child spacing through postpartum family planning and continued adoption of modern forms of contraception. This is a part-time position that is based in Amman with possible travel to the project implementation sites in target governorates/districts.  

Job Requirements:

The Designer and Events Specialist reports directly to the CHN Communication Manager. S/he will play a key role in conceptualizing and supporting all CHN activities. S/he will be responsible for the management of the CHN main events, including launching and certification ceremonies, designing a variety of project material including training manuals, IEC materials, and other documents as needed. More specifically, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design CHN Materials, including training manuals, training toolkits, information and educational materials (posters, brochures, pamphlets, etc.), social media posts, giveaways, events materials (invitations, agenda, backdrops, rollups… etc.) while ensuring all designs meet the required specifications and branding guidelines.
  • Work closely with the CHN team and the appointed external vendors on the planning, design, and execution of project events (e.g., launch events, graduation ceremonies, open days, and panel discussions). This includes providing ideas, planning, and executing the event (venue set-ups, invitations, backdrop, rollups, logistics, press, social media, giveaways, suppliers, speakers, catering, and technical preparations).  
  • Assist in social media management, this includes social media planning, follow up and reporting.
  • Any other related duties assigned by her/his supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a university degree in Public Relations, Graphic Design, Marketing, or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in designing and event planning and executing.  
  • Wide knowledge in videography, photography, graphic designs software.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences and organizations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Creativity and strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with a keen eye to the small details.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Experience working on USAID funded projects with an understanding of USAID’s rules and regulations preferred.
  • Ability to multitask is highly desired.
  • Must be able to be to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
