Description

We are seeking an Iran Researcher specializing in Middle East affairs to conduct ongoing monitoring and in-depth research on the politics, economics, diplomacy, security, and social development of Iran and its neighboring countries. Responsibilities include collecting, verifying, and analyzing open-source materials in Chinese, English, and Persian; assessing regional dynamics and key policy developments; and producing research reports, policy briefs, and thematic analyses to provide professional support for institutional decision-making, project planning, and related operations. The researcher will also participate in project design, database development, and the presentation of findings; assist in fostering collaboration with universities, think tanks, and industry organizations; and undertake ad-hoc research assignments as required.
This position is a remote role.

Job Skills

Candidates must hold a master’s degree or higher in International Relations, Middle East Studies, Political Science, Economics, or a related field; prior experience researching Iran or Middle East affairs is preferred. Applicants should possess strong skills in information retrieval, fact-checking, qualitative analysis, and research writing, with the ability to independently manage the entire research process—from topic selection and data collection to report drafting. A professional, objective, and prudent research mindset is essential, alongside strong cross-cultural understanding, logical communication skills, and a collaborative spirit. Candidates must be capable of evaluating sources and forming evidence-based judgments within complex information environments and regarding sensitive topics, while consistently delivering high-quality research outputs on schedule. Proficiency in Arabic and English is required; reading and communication skills in Persian are a plus.
