ABOUT US:

Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a global humanitarian organization operating in more than 30 countries. We are a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and our mission is to create a world free from the devastating effects of armed violence, focusing on:

  • Clearing landmines and explosive remnants of war
  • Providing explosive ordnance risk education
  • Reducing the impact of armed violence through weapons and ammunition management

MAG is has recently been awarded a new project to implement our Weapons and Ammunition work in Jordan.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Procurement and Logistics Officer is responsible for providing efficient and comprehensive logistical support to MAG's programme in Jordan. The role ensures timely and effective implementation of MAG’s procurement and logistics policies while complying with donor regulations and local legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Coordinate all logistics components for MAG projects in collaboration with the Support Service Coordinator.
  • Implement MAG procurement and logistics policies, ensuring accountability, transparency, and compliance with donor and national regulations, including Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) guidelines.
  • Assist with tender preparation and evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement trackers.
  • Keep supplier database current, ensuring suppliers meet MAG’s minimum standards before any costs are incurred.
  • Conduct the full purchasing process: identify suppliers, prepare Bid Analyses, negotiate pricing, ensure timely deliveries, complete payment paperwork, and maintain inventory levels.
  • Maintain a rigorous filing system for procurement documentation.
  • Ensure procured items are properly received, recorded, and dispatched, with correct handover documentation

Fleet Management

  • Oversee vehicle allocation and usage, including maintenance scheduling and documentation (fuel, servicing, repairs, insurance).
  • Assist in training staff and enforcing MAG’s driving policy.
  • Conduct post-field trip vehicle inspections.
  • Act as focal point for vehicle incidents, ensuring timely reporting and coordination.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance and manage external repair providers.
  • Track and analyze fuel usage; manage vehicle log sheets and fuel cards.
  • Support international staff in obtaining local driving licenses.
  • Provide recommendations for fleet efficiency and risk mitigation.

Stock Management

  • Supervise main store operations: receiving, recording, shelving, dispatching, and returning goods.
  • Maintain up-to-date stock tracking and monitor stock levels closely.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks and report discrepancies.
  • Submit monthly stock reports and quarterly stock flow analyses.
  • Report losses/damages and assist with disposal processes.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Support Services Coordinator.

Asset Management

  • Ensure all assets are registered, tagged, and in good condition.
  • Track asset movements, including check-in/out, donation, and disposal processes.
  • Produce loss/damage reports as needed.
  • Lead and document annual asset physical verification.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in humanitarian work with international donors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driving license.
