Medical Doctor - for daily worker pool

CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, which opened in 2006, is giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic and maxillo-facial) to war wounded people providing comprehensive health cares, MSF aims at identifying and referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.

Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman is therefore open the vacancy of Medical Doctor for daily worker and emergencies.

THE JOB

Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and up-dated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients’ health conditions.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis and prevention.
• Prescribe relevant treatment according to MSF guidelines and protocols.
• Ensure high-quality follow-up care and refer patients to other health facilities when necessary.
• Maintain hygiene standards in all medical activities.
• Keep patients and their families informed about any developments.
• Collaborate with nurses and team supervisors in indicating the needs for medical equipment and drugs.
• Responsible for in-patients, coordinates activities around patients in the ward.
• Ensure systematic and organized follow-up of previously hospitalized patients in the outpatient department (OPD).
• Ensure proper documentation of all patients’ records.
• Serve as the first point of contact for all medical and surgical cases.

PROFILE

• Recognized medical doctor diploma/degree is required
• MOH license to work in Jordan is required
• Registration with the Jordan Medical Association is required
• Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic is required
• 2 years’ experience in known Hospital, preferably in a surgical ward for orthopaedic plastic, and/or Maxillofacial surgeries
• Experience in the medical management of chronic osteomyelitis cases (including the required Antibiotic protocols and safe administration for each infection) is preferred
• Experience in pain management protocols including neuropathic pain management is preferred

WORK LOCATION:           Amman - Al Mowasah hospital - Northern Marka

CONTRACT:                       As the position is requested for temporary support only, no contract will be signed, and payment will be based on the number of days performed at an hourly rate.

Probable start date:       Request will be upon need
