Position Overview:

We are seeking an innovative and results-oriented Marketing Officer to join our team.

The Marketing Officer will play a key role in supporting the Food Security and Livelihoods program in Jordan, which is designed to empower beneficiaries by marketing and promoting their homemade products.

This role includes offering technical assistance for marketing platforms, creating and implementing strategies to establish a strong brand identity, designing marketing campaigns, producing promotional materials, evaluating product quality, making pricing recommendations, and identifying potential markets for sales.

Additionally, the officer will manage multiple projects simultaneously, provide training, and support beneficiaries in sustaining and expanding their businesses in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Identity Development & Positioning:

  • Assist beneficiaries in creating and establishing a unique and cohesive brand identity for their products, including logo design, packaging, and brand messaging.
  • Develop strategies for positioning their products effectively in the market to differentiate them from competitors.
  • Ensure the brand identity aligns with Islamic Relief’s values and mission while appealing to target customers.
  • Marketing Campaign Design & Implementation:
  • Design and execute creative marketing campaigns (both online and offline) to promote the beneficiaries’ products.
  • Develop engaging content for social media, websites, and other promotional channels to build brand awareness and drive sales.

 

Content Creation & Design:

  • Create high-quality promotional materials (e.g., product images, flyers, social media posts, brochures) to support the marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain consistency in design and messaging across all marketing materials.

 

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to understand consumer needs, industry trends, and competitor strategies.
  • Analyze product quality and offer recommendations to ensure the products meet market expectations and remain competitive.
  • Make informed pricing recommendations based on market demand and product cost.

 

Sustaining the Product & Growth Strategies:

  • Develop long-term marketing strategies to help beneficiaries sustain their business by fostering brand loyalty and customer retention.
  • Advise on innovative promotional tactics and product diversification to enhance product offerings and expand the beneficiary’s market reach.
  • Evaluate sales data and customer feedback to adapt and optimize marketing strategies for continued growth.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, online platforms, and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with local and international partners to identify opportunities for product promotion and distribution.
  • Support the Food Security and Livelihoods team in conducting assessments and selecting the appropriate rightsholders for program participation.

 

Training & Capacity Building:

  • Conduct training sessions for beneficiaries on branding, marketing strategies, product positioning, pricing, social media and sales techniques.
  • Train beneficiaries on how to manage their online presence, including using e-commerce websites for order processing, customer communication, and order tracking.

 

Website & Technical Support:

  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure the beneficiaries’ products are correctly added to the website and that they are easy to navigate for customers.
  • Provide support and training on how beneficiaries can manage orders, update product listings, and track customer interactions.

 

Project Management:

  • Oversee multiple marketing projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress, adjust timelines and strategies as needed, and provide regular updates to management.
  • Develop the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for marketing platforms and coordinate with service providers to ensure timely and efficient execution of marketing activities.

 

Promotions & Events:

  • Coordinate promotional activities, such as product launches, seasonal campaigns, and community events, to increase product visibility and sales.
  • Leverage various marketing channels, including digital marketing, influencer partnerships, and grassroots campaigns, to maximize outreach.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

 

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on brand development, content creation, social media and digital marketing strategies.
  • Proven track record of assisting small businesses or individuals in creating and sustaining a brand identity.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and online product sales is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working with NGOs or marginalized communities is an advantage.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in digital marketing tools, including social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), Google Ads, and email marketing.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM strategies and digital marketing tools.
  • Strong proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent design software.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, etc.).
  • Proficient in reporting and documentation, including developing well-structured reports, compiling beneficiary lists, and providing detailed breakdowns and data to the MEAL department as required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Strong understanding of humanitarian contexts, principles, and the ability to apply them in program planning and execution.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian issues, with experience working directly with local NGOs and vulnerable communities.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills in complex situations.
    Confident decision-maker, capable of balancing beneficiary needs with program goals.

 

Additional Requirements:

Languages: Proficiency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).

Location: Based in Irbid, with occasional travel to other program areas as required.
