Social Media Support – Ministry of Water and Irrigation (Service Agreement)

The Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity (WEC), project in Jordan, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (www.tetratech.com/intdev) (funded by the US government) is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Social Media Support. This position is short term task, based in Amman.

Jordan faces ongoing challenges in water scarcity, requiring collective efforts from the government, private sector, and communities to promote efficient and sustainable water use. The Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI) plays a central role in shaping public awareness and behavior related to water conservation. Effective communication is essential to ensure that water-saving messages reach and resonate with citizens across the Kingdom.

In support of this goal, the Water Efficiency and Conservation (WEC) Activity is supporting MWI to hire individual under service agreement contract to strengthen their social media presence through engaging and informative content. By developing a consistent social media calendar, producing creative posts, and amplifying water conservation messages through reels, stories, and simple designs, this support will help the Ministry foster a culture of water efficiency and public responsibility.

The service provider will coordinate closely with the Ministry Spokesperson office,  and align efforts with the Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity to ensure messaging consistency and effectiveness

DETAILED RESPONSBILITIES:

The objective is to enhance the Ministry’s digital presence and deliver compelling social media content that raises awareness on water issues and promotes water-saving practices among Jordanian communities.

Task Overview

Social Media Calendar

  • Develop a three-month content calendar in alignment with MWI’s communication priorities and planned events.

Content Creation

  • Draft engaging social media captions, posts, and stories to communicate key water conservation messages.
  • Ensure tone and messaging are consistent with the Ministry’s communications strategy.

Creative Design

  • Produce simple graphics and designs optimized for social media platforms.

Video and Reels production:

  • Capture and edit short-form videos (reels and stories) highlighting MWI events, initiatives, and public messages.

On-Site Coordination:

  • Work from the Ministry’s office 2–3 days per week to ensure close coordination with the Spokesperson’s office.

Alignment with stakeholders

  • Coordinate with the Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity to ensure consistency in campaign messaging and shared objectives.

Monthly Reporting

Submit a short monthly update summarizing activities, content produced, and key engagement highlights.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Medial, Marketing, Communication, Business Administration or any other  relevant field, with 3 years of experience in social media management and content creation, or 8 years experience of relevant work.
  • Strong ability to design and edit basic graphics and visuals using tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or equivalent.
  • Experience in producing and editing short-form video content (reels, stories, interviews).
  • Proven ability to develop and manage a social media calendar and track content performance.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with government institutions and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Jordan’s water sector or environmental communications is an advantage.

The assignment will span Three Months, with a 20 hours / month will be based at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation offices and will maintain continuous coordination with the Spokesperson’s office and the Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity.
