Job Description and Requirements

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Planning & Development

  • Participate in the development of plans and objectives for credit to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives for the bank.
  • Participate in the preparation and amendment of the credit policy, authorities and other credit related manuals and SOPs
  • Participate in the process of reviewing the framework for calculating expected credit losses, IFRS9 policy, risk acceptance document, target market standards, and adequacy of provisions
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations to streamline work flow.

Credit Assessment and Risk Analysis

  • Evaluate credit applications and verify their compliance with credit policy, risk acceptance document and target market standards.
  • Prepare credit evaluation memos for credit proposals
  • Review the inputs of the risk rating to ensure validity and accuracy

Team Management & Reports

  • Prepare the necessary periodic reports related to credit review in accordance with the credit policy and the requirements of the regulatory authorities.
  • Supervise subordinate employees in credit administration and remedial to ensure employees receive appropriate training and development.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or any related field
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in a credit review managerial role with delegated authority 
  • Well versed with CBB regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with Bahrain mortgage procedures


Additional Key Competencies: Sufficient knowledge of credit admin and remedial management functions.
