Job Title: Incharge Nurse FSR # 699

Location: Zaatari Camp 

Job Summary

A charge nurse, in addition to carrying out his main nursing tasks as a Nurse, he is responsible of performing an extra administrative tasks, as mentioned in details below, He/ She (hereafter referred to as 'he') is responsible for the quality of care, maintenance and organization of the ER, PHC Zaatari by technical supervision of nurses, administrative supervision of the medical staff.

Accountabilities:

  • Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures, and supervise his team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in the ER, PHC.
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of his team (week's schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.
  • With the support of shift Pharmacist, carry out and/or supervise the pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, inventories at the end of each shift) in the ER, PHC, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. He reports any malfunction to the nurse supervisor.
  • Carry-out and/or coordinate administrative information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.
  • Organizes patient transfer to other facilities and ensuring that all ambulatory care needs are met including but not limited to, escort personnel, equipment and medications.
  • Analyze the data at the end of each shift and sending a short report to the Nurse supervisor and Clinic manager.
  • Ensure patient understanding about drug regimen, health condition and follow up visit
  •  Maintain examination room in order an ensure full supply needed for services provision
  • Coordinate the service delivery activities of the ER staff team, ensuring an integrated, collaborative client-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with the other agencies working in the camp after working hours (Referral team and Secondary Health Care) and facilitate optimal communication to ensure an effective, coordinated work flow.
  • Oversee the appointment scheduling process ensuring the effective use of staff and facility resources.
  • Provide direction and support to ER staff leads responsible for specific program and specific assignment.
  • Provide leadership and support for ER staff (GP, Nurses, and volunteers) to enhance the effective use of the electronic health records system.
  • Coordinate the planning process for new ER programs and service initiatives, in collaboration with the staff team.
  • Support, coach and supervise assigned staff, including the development and monitoring of goals and individual work plans.
  • Complete performance appraisals for all direct reports.
  • Coordinate the orientation and training of new ER staff under the leadership of the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Participate in team and staff meetings and other meetings to support both service delivery and organizational goals
  • Work in a manner that consistent with the IMC vision, mission, guiding principles, preserves confidentiality, client safety and minimizes risk to clients, volunteers and the ER clinic.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree of nursing from a Jordanian University & MOH Licensing.
  • Minimum Experience is 4 year is a must in Emergency department 
  • Experience with an NGO (preferred).
  • BLS, ALCS certification is preferred
  • Good in English language, speaking and writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
