Digital Innovation Officer (Developer)

• The clearance of landmines and explosive remnants of war,
• Provide explosive ordnance risk education to vulnerable communities, and
• Reduce the impact of Armed Violence in communities through weapons and ammunition management initiatives.

As part of our strategic priority to ‘Strengthen our Systems and Processes’, MAG has been developing our Regional Non Operating Office in Amman as the organization’s Global Hub of excellence for Digital Innovation and Information Management. This role of Digital Innovation Officer (Developer) will be part of a growing team of technology specialists based in Amman that will support MAG’s global operations.

About the Job:

Job Purpose:  

As a Digital Innovation Officer at MAG, you will play a crucial role that will enable MAG to succeed in its digital transformation journey, in line with the strategic priorities across MAG’s programmes and Manchester office. Principle activities will be the development of innovative digital applications that enable greater integration and efficiency across the organization. This role is supporting MAG’s global business processes and systems.

Job Description:

Business Processes Analysis

• Work with colleagues across all departments affiliated to the Manchester Office and Programmes to understand key organization processes and identify opportunities to develop, or improve, digital platforms/systems for management information.
• Identify how organizational efficiencies can be gained through alternative digital workflows.

Application Development

• Develop, maintain, and improve a range of custom applications to align with MAGs business processes with the Office 365 environment.
• Develop applications with a ‘secure by design’ approach, to ensure MAG’s data is only accessible to those who have responsibility for it.
• Ensure that the development of applications is sustainable so that minimal intervention is required in maintaining systems.
• Work towards implementation of MAG’s global technology strategy and vision and integrated digital environment.

Teamwork, Support, Collaboration, and Strategic Innovation

• Working in DevOps team, participate in and contribute towards the implementation MAG’s Digital Technology team vision and strategy.
• Promote the development of MAG as an organization that is digitally enabled, fit for purpose and reduces duplication of effort through use of technology
• Support MAG colleagues across the world in the training and use of organizational applications within Power Apps.
• Provide prompt responses to support requests from other colleagues
• Be a technical support resource for other colleagues and work towards being an organizational Dev Ops Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Keep up to date with new technology, be creative, and be confident to challenge existing practices with new ideas.

General

• Work as part of a DevOps team and wider Digital technology team, liaise with other departments to ensure effective communications across the organisation.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.
