Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Location: Amman

Job Summary

We are looking for a strong, qualified candidate to join our finance department, a Senior Finance Officer is responsible for all aspects of the country program's financial management, ensuring compliance with International Medical Corps internal policies and procedures and donor and in-country regulations. The position is responsible for providing all transactional financial services, including payroll, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, financial reports. The position coordinates with the program team in terms of payments, tracks and analyses pipelines, prepares donor reports, assists in audit visit preparation, etc.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Preparing Budget Variance Analysis (BVA) includes shared funding setup and Budget amendments.
  • Check and monitor budget line allocations
  • Leading the Accounting System (Cost Point) and budgeting & Reporting (TM1) , Import all accounting data through CSV template and manually, raising PR’s
  • Check the accuracy, eligibility and completeness of all incoming payments, invoices, before processing them, ensuring all official supporting documents and authorizations as per the office Payment Matrix are in place before payment
  • Checking and processing all bank and cash payments along with adjustment Vouchers.
  • Review the procurement process and ensure the financial chain among the purchase request, purchase order, invoice and goods received note and in order.
  • Monitor and manage project cash balances and maintain a tracking system ensuring that all project related payments are paid in a timely manner.
  • Review of AR/AP report (Account Receivable/ account payable) and reports circulated on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for managing the monthly accounting submissions to IMC Headquarters, account reconciliations for each month.
  • Analyze employee salaries by reflecting the actual working hours on projects available on all expenses related to the institution
  • Provide support with the analysis of the pipelines and financial report submission.
  • Manage salary process through a review of Gross salaries, Over Time, tax, social security and other staff deductions.
  • Prepares a bank reconciliation with cash balance and prepare any entries to correct the cash balance in the ledger.
  • Oversight and management of banking relations and planning and monitoring country cash flow requirements to ensure smooth implementation of IMC programs.
  • Follow up monthly on receivables, unsettled items and advances registered in project’s bookkeeping journals
  • Any other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or any related field 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English 
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role 
  • NGO experience is a must
